| Northern Housing Consortium delivers Government funded 'JobMoves' pilot, helping social tenants into work |

Northern Housing Consortium (NHC) is pleased to announce their delivery of a new and exciting government funded pilot in the North - the JobMoves employment mobility service.
JobMoves Pilot
The 12 month pilot sees the NHC deliver an advice and advocacy service to social housing tenants in the North of England
who have an offer of employment or apprenticeship placement outside of their local area, to help them to move to a suitable affordable home closer to their new job.
JobMoves helps facilitate social housing moves across the North,
providing co-ordinated support to give social tenants the best possible chance of obtaining a suitable home move within a commutable distance of their new job/apprenticeship.
JobMoves does not duplicate existing advice services, but will work alongside local authorities and housing associations, as well as third sector organisations, offering a brokering role in assisting tenants to navigate the often complex routes to re-housing.
This can be particularly difficult for tenants trying to move to a new area as they are likely to be unfamiliar with the services that may be available to them in a different town/city.
NHC Members and wider stakeholder engagement
JobMoves will be reliant on the engagement of NHC members and wider Northern stakeholder organisations to provide advice to social housing tenants, and to share their local knowledge and experience in assisting people in seeking and securing a new home in order to take up their offer of a job.
Stakeholders may include local authority housing solutions services, third sector organisations such as Shelter and Citizens Advice, Job Centre Plus and smaller employment organisations already offering advice to social housing tenants.
