Investment, Innovation, Opportunity
Friday, 20th May 2011
The Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds.
Whilst there are challenges, there is also an expectation that comes with the new agenda (one which we feel the North is well placed to take advantage of), but there are some big questions to be answered:
. How will future investment in the North be driven - regional growth funds, LEPS - where does housing now fit in?
. What are the implications of budget 2011?
. Affordable rents in the North - what difference will they make?
. Public sector reform and payment by results - what does this mean?
. Where does the Big Society and Localism fit into housing's agenda - Where can mutuals fit in?
. What are the real contributions the sector can make to neighbourhoods?
. What role can housing play in health and wellbeing?
. With the reduction in red tape and regulation, where will the innovation come from?
. Resident scrutiny - can it really transform the way services are delivered?
. Give to get - and what is the reality for the call to share services and deliver efficiencies
All these questions will be debated at this year's Leader's Summit. Structured around three themes of investment, innovation and opportunity, this invitation-only event for Northern Housing Consortium Members will allow Chief Executives and Directors to mutually explore the issues affecting their businesses in conjunction with key decision makers to help shape the Northern Housing Consortium's (or North's) offer to government.
