The future of local services assessment is also currently a hot topic for discussion. The Commission has produced a discussion paper which suggests that services be assessed in a joined up manner reflecting the customer experience. It also has an interactive tool to help build an Area Profile, the basis for such assessment.

The Housing Corporation has published its Corporate Plan 2006/09. It includes a total of 39 targets that the Corporation has set itself to meet its overall objectives.
