Action Learning Group
The Action Learning Group (ALG) was established in October 2007 by members with an interest in learning from each other, and experts in policy and public health, on the actions they can take to improve the health and well-being of their communities. The ALG is a 2 year project which meets quarterly around the north and is led by Dr Sohail Bhatti Associate Director of the NHC (Public Health). What is Action Learning?
Improving health and well-being is a key area of government policy and it is a particular issue for the north. The north has some of the countrys highest levels of deprivation and poorest life chances. Read some killer facts here.
The Challenge:-
The housing sector in the North has a direct impact on, and key role in improving, health and well-being. However there are some key challenges including:-
- Building the evidence base
- Setting priorities and influencing local strategic partners including the LA, PCT
- Establishing effective partnerships and engaging with communities
- Measuring the impact of our interventions
Good Practice
If members wish to share good practice please send details to be added to the Integrated Living Network practice bank. Details can be sent in any format but to make case studies as useful as possible please indicate what you did, why, what worked well and what you learned.
