County Durham Sub-regional Working Party

Remit of group

This group is intended to promote and assist the increasing need for authorities to work strategically on a sub-regional level. A key role for the group is for members to take responsibility of sub-regional challenges and develop cross boundary solutions that benefit the sub-region as a whole. The group at present meets every quarter and feeds into the wider structures present in County Durham.

Membership of the group is restricted to district authorities operating in the county, but attendance is open to the relevant statutory bodies in the North East.

Sub-Regional Strategy

County Durham's Sub-Regional Housing Strategy has been submitted to the Regional Housing Board. This will enable the North East Assembly to commission work in the sub-region based on evidence included in the strategy. The strategy can be downloaded here and appendices can be downloaded here.
