
Tyne & Wear Strategic Housing Partnership
Remit of group
The Tyne and Wear Strategic Housing Partnership is a strategic body of the five local authorities working in the Tyne and Wear sub-region. The strategic aims of the partnership are to:-

Drive forward the TWSHP

Engage with decision makers and influencers at regional and national levels

Carry out a Housing Market Assessment of the Tyne and Wear sub region

Develop and implement a fit for purpose sub regional housing strategy

Create a policy framework to deliver success

Advance capital funding bids and create the delivery framework for increased investment in the sub region.

The Tyne and Wear Strategic Housing Market Assessment is available to download here. The Partnership recognises that this document does not meet the standard set out in the Strategic HMA guidance that was published recently. The partnership intends to use the material and gather additional information with a view to publishing a second iteration that will meet the full SHMA requirement.
