This free workshop will explore what local value for money benchmarking would entail and examine how we can make this work in practice.

The need to demonstrate value for money has been accentuated in the recent Budget. Falling rents and reducing benefits will require that social landlords will need to achieve real efficiencies to continue to provide a good standard of service to tenants. They will also need to learn from each other, comparing costs, outcomes and methods of delivery.

Landlords attending our recent VFM network meetings stressed the need for accurate and timely benchmarking, allowing true comparison with peer organisations. Many landlords highlighted the need for more bespoke, local benchmarking to allow shared learning as well as comparative costs.

This free workshop will explore what local benchmarking would entail and examine how we can make this work in practice. The workshop will include a demonstration by Gurshran Lal of QA Housing Consulting of the social housing efficiency tool he has developed to assess VFM and provide local benchmarking.
