A recent report by The Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee warned that to hit the target of building 300,000 new homes a year by mid-2020s, modern methods of construction (MMC) must be embraced to help make up the shortfall that traditional building methods will likely suffer.
NHC and Consortium Procurement understand the challenges our members face and have been working on solutions to help with your construction and MMC requirements. With this in mind we have developed and launched our new brand ‘Consortium Procurement Construction’ giving our members access to offsite housing solutions.
We know there is enthusiasm from our members for using MMC products, but we also realise there are many challenges such as driving volume, standardising specifications/products, budget restraints, local skills/training and customer perception to name just a few.
To help overcome these challenges, Consortium Procurement have been working with industry experts and will be now engaging with members to find solutions. We’re hosting three regional roundtables for our members to come together with industry experts and discuss how we may all be able to move forward together, to drive volume and value when using MMC.
The roundtables take place on:
- North East: Tuesday 1st October 2019, Mansion House, Newcastle upon Tyne, 12:15pm – 4:30pm
- Yorkshire and Humber: Wednesday 9th October, WDH, Castleford, 12:15pm – 4:30pm
- North West: Wednesday 16th October, Ward Hadaway Offices, Manchester, 12:15pm – 4:30pm
