Member Dinners & Tours

The Northern Housing Consortium hosts a number of dinners and tours during the year with MPs, Government officials and sector leaders.

These dinners and tours provide a Chatham House discussion on themes which are relevant to further the influence and work of the housing sector in the North. Past dinners have included:

  • Selvin Brown, Director – Net Zero Buildings, DESNZ
  • Cathy Francis, Director, Places, Infrastructure and Housing Delivery, MHCLG
  • Philip Collins, Journalist, CEO of the Draft, Senior Advisor at Lansons and Chief Speechwriter to the former Prime Minister, Tony Blair
  • Martin Hilditch, Editor, Inside Housing

Our Full Members receive invitations to dinners as part of their membership fee.

If you are interested in sponsoring a dinner please contact Lynda Redshaw.

Member Roundtables

The NHC runs a regular series of free member roundtables. The themes and topics focus on the most current issues facing our members with many based on their suggestions.  These have included:

  • Housing delivery and development
  • Health, Housing & Ageing series
  • Empty Homes
  • Homelessness
  • Funding for Supported Housing
  • Financial Inclusion
  • Tenancy Sustainability
  • Legal updates

The sessions provide an opportunity for NHC members to keep updated with the latest policy developments, hear about other members’ approaches, share learning, and connect members to one another. Roundtables take place in an informal setting, usually online, and are designed to encourage discussion and maximise the contribution of all attendees.

The NHC uses Roundtables to gather member intelligence, further understand some of the challenges and good practice across the north, and support members.
