We’re supporting #OurNorth Net Zero: find out how you can get involved

The climate crisis is a reality – and with ¼ of the North’s carbon emissions coming from existing homes, housing is part of the solution.

That’s why we’re proud to support #OurNorth Net Zero – a programme of events, research and influencing work being led by the Northern Housing Consortium (NHC). The NHC will be making the case that retrofitting the North’s older, colder homes will create jobs and cut emissions now: contributing to Government priorities on levelling-up and reaching Net Zero.

There are lots of opportunities for our team to get involved. Each week through the Autumn, the NHC are hosting a webinar covering a different aspect of housing decarbonisation – enabling housing organisations in the North to learn from each other and from national experts.

These events are free to attend – you can browse the programme and register using the NHC’s member portal at https://www.mynhc.org.uk/events – all you need is your work email address. New events are being added – so do keep checking back. You can also view previous events.

We’ll also be involved in the annual Northern Housing Summit event on 3rd November, where research demonstrating the jobs and skills boost housing decarbonisation can deliver will be launched, and key speakers include City Mayors Andy Burnham and Steve Rotheram.

#OurNorth Net Zero is supported by Halton Housing, Liverpool City Region Housing Associations, Thirteen, and Together Group. For more information, contact Anna Seddon at the NHC – anna.seddon@northern-consortium.org.uk
