North West Policy Network Group

The Northern Housing Consortium (NHC) have recently set up and facilitate a North West  Policy Network Group – which essentially is a group of North West members from Housing Associations and Local Authorities and will provide members with the opportunity to meet up quarterly in different member venues across the North West Region to share good practice, discuss policy developments and what they mean for the North West region and hear from other organisations around their challenges and approaches adopted to mitigate impact on the business and their tenants.

Attendance of the group is wide and varied and have included Managers and Officers from  Welfare Reform teams, Financial inclusion teams, Income management, Policy, Strategy and Research, Business & Performance Improvement and other similar roles.

The meetings will be held across the NW region at different member offices, and will usually meet for two hours each quarter, some meetings will include presentations from external speakers, the agenda for each meeting will be set by members and will have a tight focus, thematic approach –  concentrating on specific issues,  these can include: Devolution, Employment & Skills, Modular Housing, rent cuts, universal credit – to name a few.
