The NHC works with its members to influence the national policy agenda. With the evidence we gain from our member engagement activity we can reinforce member’s views to influence government and key stakeholders. We achieve this through the relationships we have with parliamentarians, by providing evidence from our members on government consultations, through the All Party Parliamentary Group for Housing in the North and through engaging members within our policy networks.

The learning from our Commission for Housing in the North, developed with our members, continues to guide our work. We strive for a strong Northern voice to be heard by politicians and other key stakeholders.

  • On-the-Day Briefings

    our ‘on-the-day briefings’ are sent to members after any key policy proposals or spending announcements.

  • Policy Networks

    a network for NHC members working across the region around poverty, welfare reform, universal credit, tenancy support and social and financial exclusion.

  • Pride in Place

    Pride in Place explores views of residents on what contributes to feelings of pride in their local area and the role NHC members could play in boosting pride in place.
