Housing at the Heart of a Rebalanced Country

Whether it’s under the banner of regeneration, placemaking, or Levelling Up, there is now political consensus on the ambition to reduce regional disparities and deliver better homes and places.

All political parties are developing their own policies to tackle local inequalities and restore the social fabric of communities. Here at the NHC we are working with members to ensure that housing’s vital contribution is recognised and valued; and to secure the policy and resources necessary to make rebalancing a reality for people and places across the North.

Rebalancing: Better Places

  • Recognising NHC Members as  vital anchor institutions; Central to boosting living standards, improving public services, restoring pride in place, and empowering communities.
  • Making the case for the capacity and resource needed to truly make a difference.
  • Highlighting what works for the North in national renewal policy. Evidencing need and celebrating success.
